Use images of love to create a photo essay on love, this can be anything from abstract, metaphorical and realistic images using a common theme, like people hugging or sharing or touching, something that can show something about love. Once complete, analyze data and formulate theory. The sampling of images must be significant to validate any theories. Create photo essay with data collected. You can group to prove point or just use and a data collection, if grouped, make clear what process was involved and why. Present in digital format either by slide show or collage, or any creative visual manner that visually creates an overall concept. Use research done on love, relating to themes of anthropology, history, sociology, psychology, biological, economic, and media sources to validate findings.

Sharing Love...
Research Project - Photography of Love - Madlen
My project will be a Photo Essay about love.
I will research pictures both from my personal collection and on the Internet that show love, books on photography and how the visual image is used to express love
There are probably lots of different love pictures but I will try to find pictures which show the different kinds of love to prove that there are many ways of loving a person or thing.
It’s also interesting to analyze photographs that don’t look like they don’t express love. I want to take a closer look to see what might open up and reveal hidden, unexpected things or feelings for someone or something.
I want to analyze the pictures in a different way, for example how do the photographs communicate and connect with us? What do they try to tell us? Photographs hold memories and they remind us of love, and good times. Is this their only function?
What do we feel when we look at our pictures or memories when we look at other peoples pictures? Do we even feel anything by looking at photographs which aren’t connected with us?
I think every picture tells a unique story and we have to look close to understand what it says to us. If there is no memory how do we relate to it? Furthermore I was wondering if the picture tells us what we have to feel or is it reflecting what we feel in that specific moment? Are there universal memories or stories in pictures?
A photographer tries to catch an expression at a specific moment and that’s why some snapshots sometimes express more feelings then a long prepared photo. Those little moments are the matter of great photography. I want to analyze different situations, for example: people hugging and kissing each other or even just laughing together. Those feelings or actions are conveyed by the facial expression of the people in the pictures. I don’t want to use just photographs but maybe also pictures from a movie because they indicate how we should feel while watching it.
Later on I will try to answer those questions by analyzing the photographs which support the love topic.
In the end I will put all my research together and create an interesting essay about how love is presented in photographs nowadays.
In my presentation I will present different kinds of photographs which will give answers to my questions above and I will explain those.
