Sharing Love...

Research Project - Love & Cinema - Lea

I choose the topic “Love and Cinema”. Love and all the feelings that are included can be very well presented in films. Nearly every film has something to do with Love even a horror film, because Love is everywhere and everyone gets to know the feeling even once in his or her life. While I’m watching a film like Titanic, I feel so much from Rose and Jack, I laugh or even cry together with them. It affects me, and that is the point, which makes this topic so interesting for me.

For research I will watch a lot of films, to pick out those, which are outlining the topic the best. Although I will try to find films about different topics, not just “Love Films”, because I think that can make it even more interesting to research all genres.

The questions I have:

Why is Love after nearly 100 years of films still the most popular topic of films?

Did they show the same picture of Love in the first decades of film history?

I will try to figure out the answers, by watching a lot of movies, interviewing peoples, to find out what they think about Love in films and why they find it interesting, what they get out of films as related to love. Also I will use the Internet for research.

I will present my results with a Power Point presentation to the class. I will try to add one or two little film clips to underline my results, and I will try to find statistics on films like, how many people like to watch Love films and compare it to other genres of film, and I will make a personal statistic from information gathered.
