For me love is the strongest, most beautiful and dangerous feeling a man can feel. It can make one feels like he’s the happiest person of the entire world. But it also may make one feels like if the world’s ending if not corresponded or if one is disappointed. Love means passion, danger, beauty, fullness. It’s when one misses that special person and tries to do, get and be the best for that someone.
To me love means that you devote yourself to the person you love and have such a strong feeling or affection for them, so you love the person no matter what. Love can be unconditional at times (mother – child) but in a relationship it is also about compromises.
To me love is the strongest emotion one can feel for another person. It includes an intense bonding to someone with the feeling of happiness, warmth and shelter in presence of that person. Real love withstands bad times and is based on deep trust in the partner. If you fall in love with somebody it is hard to ever live without him or her again.
To me love is the relationship and the feelings between two people based on openness and reliability so that while being together you feel at home. Together with people you love you can behave and be without fear; you do not have to hide from anything. You can understand the other one without using words and there is total honesty. Being with a person you love fills you up with warmth and pulls you back to the earth while letting you fly at the same time.
Love to me is a kind of condition, when you can sit in one room together in complete silence, without saying
anything and at the same time without feeling awkward or weird.
To me love is an emotion, produced by biological processes. There is a constant necessity to express this feeling to the one we love. It can be expressed in several ways, for example with small details. When we are around the people we love, we can be ourselves. That is why we feel comfortable and secure around them. Furthermore, love to me is trust, support, compassion and forgiveness. It is to be there for the one who need us. Sometimes, love can mean sacrifices. And true love is unconditional and everlasting.
In one of classical Turkish movie, love is defined as goodness, fellowship, and giving an effort. I totally think like that. If I love someone, I make an effort for the favour or happiness of that person with strong positive emotion inside me. I can do whatever I do for him or her. I also feel densely attached to him. Thus, with this attachment feeling I present my fellowship and intimacy with my heart. This involves understanding that person deeply, sharing all life, tolerance, being respectful to each other. When I think ‘love’ in Turkish, it is used for both romantic relationship and relationship with family or friends. I think the difference between love to lover or family or friends is sexuality, other things are same. Loving to lover also includes sexuality.
For me love is a very strong, or even the strongest, emotion connected to a person or a thing. If you love somebody or something, you have a very special relationship to this person or object.
It is hard for me to find a border between like and love. Love is definitely more emotional than like.
I have been thinking quite long about this question and I still cannot come to an sufficient conclusion. Obviously love is an emotion. But at the same time it is so much more.
Personally I feel like it is something really warm, a thing that can be so fragile at some times and then again so strong that it could fight anything bad in this world. It appears it different shapes. For example it can be found as little animals that slip into your body and tickle you until you have to laugh all day, smiling, singing on your bicycle ride at home, dancing instead of walking. It can appear like a warm pullover that keeps you safe from the cold winter. Then again it could be a suit of amour that makes you feel invulnerable and strong. It can be experienced as something natural and good or as a matter that threatens ones existence and leads into insanity. Love seems to be all around and the media and the advertising industry make so much use of it that you could sometimes think it is just a concept to sell perfume easier. But the first time you really experience it you know it is just a lame copy of real love that they are playing with. Love is the beginning and the end, the mother of this world and the absence of it leaves nothing but absurdness.
Love is an exciting adventure, sometimes in a negative, but mostly in a positive way of meaning. Love includes so many emotions, you can be the happiest human being on earth, but you also can be very unhappy. On the one hand, you have to work for love, your relationship. On the other hand, you can lean back, enjoy life and feel secure.
First of all love is an emotion. But this is just a technical term for the process, the power and the ambivalence the word love is filled with. There is no such thing like a universal meaning of love. Love is both: individual and all-embracing. For me love is a feeling that affects my body as well as my soul. Love is a very powerful emotion that finds its way through a withdrawn, quiet or devote mind or a repellent, distant body. Love can change things, persons, situations, stories, even history. Feeling love for something or someone might be a very personal gift, but altogether love can affect a broad spectrum of processes, situations and relations. Love can be found not only in the way I treat my boyfriend, my family or my best friends but also in the kind I approach strangers. Furthermore love can be read out of gestures, words, faces. I think love is the only thing in the world that can appear in everything everywhere; and if it is absent, it will have the most terrible consequences for everyone and everything.
According to me love is a state of mind rather than a short lived emotion. Love is the deep longing for another person, the feeling that you’re not really complete without that person. It makes you grow beyond yourself, sincerely opening yourself towards someone. Then love becomes mental and physical nakedness. In the same time it is a cover that wraps you all around. Love is a gift that in the best case would not expect anything. Sometimes love can become sickness, full of silly emotions and absurd desires. Love is probably the most manifold condition, covering all kinds of emotions, from longing over fear to euphoria.
Love is a very strong emotion that makes you feel connected to a certain person, family members, friends and even animals.
To me, love is a strong, emotional feeling which represents the affection to somebody (or something). It means that you extremely care about somebody, wanting not to miss this somebody in your life as then there would be missing some part of yourself.
When thinking of love, I also think of trust, respect, desire and loyalty because in my opinion these characteristics are essential to love unconditionally.
Also, you are somehow influenced by love in your way of acting, as you centre your decisions of what you do on the person you love. The following quotation of Nicholas Sparks describes my understanding of love quite well: "Love is more than three words mumbled before bedtime. Love is sustained by action, a pattern of devotion in the things we do for each other every day."
Love for me is something, that I don’t dare to label or press into a form by finding a definition for it. The way I see it, it can appear in many different forms. It can be a force, an emotion, an instinct, a state etc. Sometimes love is all these things together at the same time and sometimes it’s just one of those. There is the giant-gesture love and the quiet kind of love, which may be hard to recognize sometimes. There is love that develops out of friendship and there’s love that comes out of antipathy. There is love that makes you want to stay with a person forever and there’s love that makes you leave them. There is love that lasts years and there’s love that lasts months.
For me love is an emotion of being happy with a situation or someone. Love means wanting to be around someone and not caring about his or her mistakes. Simply excepting the person (or thing) how they are.
Love is the emotion we feel when we interact with people to whom we have the strongest, and most important social ties in our lives. Namely romantic partners, family members or live partners (non-romantic relationship, but tighter than best friends, in some cases: pets). Therefore our love relationships strongly influence how we see ourselves, how we form our identity, and they can even give meaning to our lives.
This is a try to say what love to me is. I´m sure nobody ever can define love because it is such a broad theme. So what I note down is just what came to my mind when I thought of love spontaneously, but this could change every day.
Love is…
-…not being alone and being happier than solo
-…sharing experiences, secrets, everyday life, good and bad times
-…being intimate , close
-…having a partner to rely on, to speak with in every possible situation (+/-)
-…being honest
-…work, problems, tears, pain
-…to be poised to make compromises
-…giving up a part of you in order to let your partner in
A feeling, a very strong feeling, an emotion, a state, biological state, human.
It’s a feeling that connects you to a person or a place. It’s a great emotion but it can lead to a lot of bad feelings. Love can come and disappear.
Love is a very deep positive emotion for someone. It is like being connected and I feel „at home“. That means trust, security and openness. Furthermore if I love someone I love that person absolutely. I do not love one character trait or just love him when we are doing one special activity. This implicates the importance of the person. I would do nearly everything and I cannot imagine not to spend the rest of my life in contact with the person. However in a perfect relationship the couple would stay together forever.
Passion, family, Christmas, faith, emotions, relation, connection, giving.
I think love starts with an emotion only but it builds up to be a relationship. Does one really know what love is if one has never been loved back? I believe that love is a combination of physical/biological attraction, psychological intensions and a bit of good will. That doesn´t sound really romantic but it can be. Just the feeling is not enough, isn´t it. In some kind of a way one has to be willing to love the other and to put some effort into the relationship to make it work. And I believe that one has to be in a relationship to really get to know oneself and the other. What is love without someone who loves me for who I am?
To me love is the most precious emotion a human being can experience in his whole life. It is the knowledge that you belong to someone. That someone can be as much a family member as a dear friend or a person you actually fall in love with from one second to another. With that in mind I don't consider love to be something that is necessarily linked with romantic feelings, it's more the certainty that there is at least one person in this world who deeply cares about you and who will be there whenever you need him or her.
Love is giving your full attention.
This seems “weird” to you?
Well, consider the following:
What do you actually do if you are in love? Have you ever had a look at someone just fallen in love at his workplace, at school, at university? Does he or she care about what he is actually doing, does he care about his environment?
Haven’t you ever experienced someone who is usually completely different and suddenly “breaks out” of his character.
An emotional definition of love would be:
Love is pulling you out of your life!
Love is a character.
Love is everything to me. I believe without love I wouldn’t be on earth and not even born, as my parents would not have met each other. I cannot describe this warm feeling when I think about love, it’s just there. This great emotion surrounds me when I think about people who mean something to me. I am certain that love makes life worth living and that it gives life a sense.
I think the meaning of LOVE can’t be given in a few sentences, maybe that’s why novelists dabble on the theme since hundred of years.
When I came in touch with love for the very first time, it was like the world stood upside down. It was a feeling stronger as any other feeling; it took control of me and my life. It was even able to shut down my rationality! On the one hand Love sometimes hurts and persuade us to do very irrational things, but on the other hand it is the most beautiful feeling, I’ve ever had.
So in my point of view love is one of the, if not the most, confusing emotion I’ve ever experienced.
But after all let me say, love is the most beautiful thing that could ever happen….
As I already mentioned in the beginning, love is so complex that you can’t give it an formula, but it has something to do with trust, jealousy, forgiveness, sympathy, honesty, desire, hurt, kindness, happiness, sharing, sacrifice, passion, loyalty, …
